Invasion of the Cocoons

Sounds like the title of an Alfred Hitchcock movie, doesn't it? These little buggers are completely covering our bushes....there must be thousands of them! Creepy.

Anyway, on to knitting stuff. Look at my Green Gable! It's actually a bit farther than this now because I took this picture the other night. I think it's going to fit. The Cotton Fleece seems to be really rough on my fingers when I'm knitting....it has a lot of "grab" and really holds onto the needles....this would have been a good one for addi turbos probably. But I like the finished fabric.
I looooove the way my Fad-Classic is turning out too! I was really unsure about how the 2x2 binding off was looking but now that it's on it looks fine. I'm really going to try to finish this one today but I have a lot of picking up and knitting stitches and that's not really my favorite. The neck and the arms. We'll see how it goes though....at least she doesn't give you a set number to pick up because that's what I always have a hard time with.

BTW: Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my Honeymoon Cami! :)

I never know what to title my posts

Why does it have to take 10 times longer to unknit than it does to knit!? I missed one yarn-over on my Green (Red) Gable and had to tink back 2 rows. It's looking really good though have 18 more rounds to do until I get to the point where I can try it on.

My Fad-Classic is also almost complete. I just have to finish the ribbing. I'm really excited about both of these projects, it's been tough to decide what to work on. I have so many things I want to make.....there are some really talented knit designers out there! Everytime I'm surfing or blog hopping I find something so cute I have to have it! Like this Razor Cami.

And look at this baby set from the summer Interweave Knits. I'm definitely going to make this for my niece that is due in October. I'm going to make it in Knit Picks Shine sport because it will be really cheap and machine washable. I'm having a really hard time deciding what color to use! I really love the green but I'd like to add some pink on it to make it a tad more girly. Maybe I'll just use a paler green like the Green Apple.

Name Change

Ok, I decided to change the name of my blog. "Kitties Love Yarn" just wasn't doin' it for me. And I figured this would be the time to do it since it hasn't been around that long. I'm not a total computer idiot but I'm still figuring out how to make all the mods to the blog. So that's that!

Honeymoon Cami Finished!

Pattern: Honeymoon Cami by Julia Trice
Yarn: Jo Sharp Soho 100% cotton in Paprika

No too bad for my first full-sized wearable garmet! I like how it came out. Although I'm not too crazy about the color....it's a little orangy but I think I will still wear it. I did add about an inch in length but other than that I stuck with the pattern.

For the love of yarn!!

So today I decide I'd better go to the yarn store that is near my work so I can get a pair of needles I need and look what I came out with!! I found it in the clearance bin....what was I supposed to do?! It's four balls of Jo Sharp Silkroad dkTweed. I was thinking it might be enough for a vest or something but if not then a nice hat and mittens would be nice...it's very soft on the skin.

I'm literally THIS close to being done with the Honeymoon Cami. I just have to lengthen the straps and graft them on and then block it. It's a little tight now but I think it should stretch out a bit because it's 100% cotton. Hopefully this weekend I'll get it finished up. I'm progressing quite nicely on my Fad-Classic! I guess that's why the Honeymoon Cami isn't finished yet. Starting out it was kind of tricky but I'm about to join the front and back in the round and it's getting much easier. I'm actually quite eager to get to the point where I can try it on because I had a really tough time getting the right guage. It seems I'm a tight knitter because I had to go from 6's to 8's to get near the correct guage and even then I kinda stretched it a bit. The knit pattern creates a really stretchy fabric anyway so I'm hoping it will work out.

I've also been working on my Green Gable guage and will have to go from 6's to 8's...really!! I didn't think I was that tight of a knitter! I guess the first sign is denial. I found a knit-along for GG to join so I'm pretty excited about it!

I've added a Pipeline Projects to my sidebar so I can keep track of what all I want to knit...there's so many you know!! I haven't made up my mind about the Lotus Blossom Tank from Interweave Knits Summer 06. I saw on the Knitty board that they're doing a KAL for this project and I want to see how everyone's turns out.

Ok, enough rambling!
