{this and that}

Hey y'all! I've been distracted the past week with giving our master bedroom a makeover. I can't wait to show you.

I squeezed in a bit of sewing over the weekend though.

A custom ordered mini quilt for a loyal customer. I'm really digging the quarter cabins!
This is my first project fully made on my new machine and I am thrilled with it so far! Still some differences I'm adjusting to but so far I'm really happy with my choice. I've never had such an easy time straight-line quilting before!

Some bee blocks for do. Good Stitches. Boy do I love this coral color! From L to R: Star of Virginia, Asterisk block and Indiana Puzzle.

More coral! I just finished cutting out fabrics for a commissioned baby quilt that is going to be super sweet in these colors.

custom baby quilts

Alright, I'm posting these two together so I can get caught up on showing you what I made back in February.

This little quilt had very specific requests to be very simple and minimal, using only white and navy and various shades of blue for a nautical themed nursery. I was inspired by this quilt I saw on Pinterest.

I especially love the back. It's a Two-Inch Stripes in Navy and to make it a bit longer I added a few extra stripes in the anchors fabric.

She was sweet enough to send me pictures of the nursery all ready for her little's arrival!

This quilt was requested in gender-neutral greens, blues, yellows and browns with animal prints. Just some simple disappearing nine-patch blocks.

Love the Heather Ross strawberries print!!!

It's been hard to be indoors with the nice weather we've been having lately. Hope everyone else is seeing signs of spring too!

Tango Throw Quilt

For this custom quilt I used Cluck Cluck Sew's new pattern, Tango. It's a breeze to make really and nice to not have to do the calculations myself! I used the requested color combination of lots of neutrals with a bit of pink, turquoise and yellow. It was a wedding gift for a couple who live on the beach. It definitely has a nice beachy vibe...I hope they love it!

For the backing, along with leftover scraps, I used a large piece of Lizzy House moons (from the Constellations collection) between a Sun Print X and Plus in the stone colorway. That X and Plus print is really great, the perfect warm gray. And

berry pretty!

Hi! And Happy post-Thanksgiving to my US friends! I'm not proud about this but I went a little crazy ordering fabric this morning. Who could pass up Botanitcs at $6.65/yard!?!

I've been busy finishing up this quilt top for a very special customer who happens to be a blog reader (hi Heather!). She sent me a mix of green, teal and berry and fruit fabrics that were used in her wedding. We settled on a plus design inspired by this quilt top. It's a very large throw, almost a twin. I LOVE how it looks! I'm using Kona Snow for the background.

Yumm, look at these berries! It's a good thing I got my pie fix yesterday!

Time to quilt this baby up!
