Archaeology Quilt + {new pattern}

Hi there! I hope all my US friends had a wonderful Memorial Day! Mine was wonderfully full of sewing and relaxing (along with remembering and being so grateful for the men and women who serve and protect us).

I've had this quilt finished up about a month ago but have been waiting to get some decent pictures of it.

I have to admit, I'm one of those people who don't mind making half square triangles. The trimming takes a bit of time but I love how perfectly square your little blocks end up!
I've been wanting to play around with triangles on empty space and this is what I came up with.

The backing is made up of a few yards of Palm Springs Beads in Aqua I found at my local quilt store along with a scrap of Ikea text.

This quilt reminds me of the desert and I would have loved to get a desert-y background for the photos but that's not really an option around here so I settled for the lovely grounds of the university we live right near.

I used Dear Stella Confetti Dots in Stone (although it seems more gray than stone?) for the background, Essex Linen would've been great too!

I'm super happy with how it came out and it was really fun and simple to make! If you are interested, I have the pattern available in my shop :)
