So, I didn't have a chance to blog beforehand but my Mom and I were able to take a road trip to Austin, TX to spend a day at QuiltCon on Friday. We really enjoyed checking out the show and vendors but to get the most out of it you would definitely want to spend the extra money on lectures/workshops. Next time!
It was fun to see so many quilts in person that I have seen on Flickr. These were just a few of my favorites. I'm SO sorry that I did not document the makers of each of these!
I loved how pretty this one was:
I think this one was from the Denyse Schmidt collection. Love her stuff!
Okay, this quilt was just plain amazing!
And the quilting was INSANE! I cannot describe how densely it was quilted.
This one was Mom's favorite.
I think this one was in the Michael Miller booth? gosh, I wish I could remember. I think it's really cool though.
And this one was just plain awesome! Love all the funky thrift fabrics.
Mom had never been to the state capital before so we stopped by to check it out.
Aside from waking up before the crack of dawn to drive down there, it was super fun and a nice little getaway!

Fun! And lucky you, to be able to just do a day trip.
How cool that you and your mom both like quilting!
