I'm still not sure that I am going to like it but I don't have much more to go to find out. This Peace Fleece is definitely NOT my favorite yarn to work with. I have attempted several different patterns with it and I find it very rough, itchy and stiff. The color is GORGEOUS (sorry, it doesn't show up in the picture at all!) but it's really a very "woolly" yarn and not one that I would use for garments. But, it is what I have in my stash and I am really trying to use it up on something! I find it interesting how many beautiful garments I've seen it used in on Ravelry....maybe it's just me? Anyway, here are more Big Butt Baby Pants! These are a gift for a friend with a new baby (well, new as in 2 months ago LOL!). Again, I used flannel because they live way up north and it is soooo soft and snuggly feeling. Very fun project that took practically no time at all!
Another thing that makes me happy right now are these pants:
They are the Big Butt Baby Pants pattern from Made by Rae. Although my baby certainly does not have a big butt (he's a lean little thing!), they fit wonderfully if you just go down a size. They are sooooo easy to make and the directions are extremely well written. I've made two pairs for Jack, a pair for my neice, and two pair for a new baby gift. I'm making them all out of flannel since the weather is cooling down. They are great "lounge" pants!I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

And we got a roof built over our back patio! I absolutely love it!

Yarn: less than one skein of Peace Fleece Worsted wool in the Ancient Fern color

Notes: This came out exactly how I wanted it to. I used thicker yarn and larger needles to get a larger vest. It fits fairly snuggly but I haven't blocked it yet so I think it should grow just a bit. I have to admit, Jack wasn't completely thrilled with wearing it but I think he's just been used to the light summer clothes he's worn for the past 5 months. Hopefully, he'll appreciate it more when it gets really cold here ( ;-). The buttons I used are definitely too big but they'll work. I'm just happy that I finished something! and now my boy has something hand knit for winter.
Lots and lots of sewing going on around here. Stay tuned for some exciting news (no, I'm not pregnant). Hint, hint, it has to do with said sewing.

Notes: I love how this came out with the colors in the yarn.
And here's a sneak peak and something that has been keeping me very busy. 
At 8 months old, he has become such a busy little boy!
Unfortunately, my knitting time has gone way down because we have put our home for sale on the market and have been searching for something a little bigger. We are in a 2-bedroom house currently and would like to find something with at least 3 bedrooms and a little more elbow room, if you know what I mean.
But, I have managed to finish one of my stripey socks! Just plain stockingette stitch, this one really went fast. 
Also, I wanted to show off a new set of fabrics I got from Pink Chalk Fabrics. It's the Red Letter Day collection by Lizzy House. I totally fell in love with it when I saw it online. The picture does not do it justice. Since I am trying to keep the house spotless right now, I will have to settle for just drooling over it until after we move (and who knows when that will be).
Here he is modeling the hat I made him. Unfortunately, at the rate he's been growing, I don't think it will fit him for more than another few weeks. For the curious, the tape on his lip is holding a little wire molding device to help shape his nose in preparation for his cleft lip surgery when he's three months old. It's pretty neat how it works and we've already seen a difference. We have to reapply it about once a day because the tape gets really soggy from milk. It hasn't been too bad so far because we can do it when he's asleep and he never knows we're messing with his face. However, I have a feeling it will get more challenging as he sleeps less and becomes more aware of things.
While Jack has been doing great, I had bit of a setback in my recovery from the c-section during our second week at home. Long story short, a pocket of fluid got trapped under the surface of my incision and had to be drained and packed with gauze. Then, I got a fever and had to be admitted to the hospital for IV antibiotics. It has not been fun but I think I'm finally starting to feel better.
I've been really enjoying stealing a moment or two to check my bloglines and see what everyone has been up to! I miss knitting!!! Hopefully we'll be getting into a routine soon so I can pick up the needles here and there. I do have some knitting to show you that I did before Jack was born so maybe I can snap some pics to share soon.
Thank you all so much for your sweet comments about my baby boy! He is so precious and I'm lucky to have him.
He is the most beautiful, happy, healthy baby we have ever seen! We are completely in love with him. We knew he had a cleft lip and cleft palate since the first ultrasound but thankfully, it is VERY mild and doesn't bother him one bit. He eats like a professional and is making the transition into parenthood easy for his dad and me. We are soooooo happy that Jack is finally here!
I used the Isaiah's Hat pattern and made up my own pattern for the mitts. I can't wait to see them modeled (hurry up and get here baby!).
