It's SPRING!

Boy, this quilt like bringing spring into your house! My Typewriter's Patchwork felt really wintery but this one says nothing but spring.

I saw this free pattern, Ribbon Box Quilt (PDF), on Hawthorne Thread's newsletter a while back and thought it would be perfect to show off the beautiful fabrics in Leah Duncan's new Meadow collection.

I didn't buy the whole collection so in order to have 12 different fabrics as the pattern calls for I added in some various prints by Anna Maria Horner, Juliana Horner and an aqua chromatics. I think they work really well together in this pattern!

On the back, I used some Meadow prints along with a Pearl Bracelets in yellow and Kona Cotton solid in Cypress. The Cypress coordinates PERFECTLY with Meadow!

What a fun quilt this was to make! Figuring out the layout (and remember what went where) was a bit tricky so I cut a small strip off the selvedges and made a little layout on paper. It helped a ton to keep everything organized! But I think I may have been a bit hasty in placing the fabrics because I wish I had made one of the greens vertical instead of both being horizontal. Oh well, I'm still really happy with it!

You're right, this is very spring-y! Great quilt and I think you did a fabulous job choosing the other fabrics to coordinate with Meadow!

Love how this quilt turned out. Starting to work on one of my own. Your diagram idea will definitely help me pick fabrics for mine. Thank you so much for the inspiration!
