Baby Butterflies Quilt

August is going by so quickly! I've been sewing like crazy lately and have 2 baby quilts finished, 5 table runners finished and 2 other baby quilts almost finished. It's actually nice doing things in "batches". Usually, I make a quilt from start to finish before I start on another one but it seemed more streamlined to sew a bunch of quilt/runner tops then baste them all then quilt them, etc. Next batch, Christmas table runners! (I'm sewing like a madwoman now in preparation for a fall craft show so that I'm not so frantic at the last minute)

So here's one of the finished baby quilts.
I just followed this basic tutorial using 5.5" squares for the background. I had chosen this design for one of our group's do. Good Stitches quilt and I loved it so much that I knew I would want to make it again. It really makes such a sweet baby quilt!

I used only fabrics from my scrap bins for the colored bits and even though it didn't make a very big dent in the volume of scraps, I felt like I used quite a bit.

LOVE the fabric combination on the back. The top fabric is some Modern Meadows herringbone I'd been hoarding for a long time and the bottom is a Ty Pennington print. The binding is another Modern Meadow fabric in a citron yellow.

The dimensions came out around 35" by 45".

This is so cute! Do you find it shrinks lots? I just washed my picnic quilt and it crinkled more than I thought. I'm making another!
