orange or pink or both?

My goodness! I've been trying to get this post up for the past two weeks! You know how life sometimes just hits you (kaboom!) and then it just keeps piling on? That's how the last two weeks have been for us. A family issue came up the week before last and then this past week we've all been sick. I'm happy to report things are on the upswing which makes me smile. Today has been super nice, nothing to do just relaxing and enjoying family time.

[note: scroll to bottom to enter win a set of Knit Picks needle tips!]

I wanted to show you my progress on my Paulie cardigan. I got my yarn from Knit Picks: Palette in Marble Heather and then two options for the stripes, Sweet Potato (orange) and Cosmopolitan (hot pink).
started
I made my swatch, testing the colors to see which I would like best. But I can't decide!!

Pink?

or orange?

What do you guys think???? maybe even a combo of both colors for the stripes?
At least I could go ahead and commence with the yoke without having made a decision since there are no stripes on the yoke.

Another funny thing. I ordered some Knit Picks Options #4 interchangeable needle tips for this project. I ordered the nickle plated ones (I have a set of these in a different size and enjoy them) but received the "Zephyr" needle tips instead. I called Knit Picks right away to report the mistake and they got another pair in the mail to me right away.
In the meantime, I went ahead and started swatching with the Zephyr tips. Let me tell you, I LOVE them!!! they are light and pointy (but not too pointy!) and are slightly flexible, they are awesome! Ironically, several days later I received my replacement needle tips and they were the Zephyr tips AGAIN. They must have a packaging problem or something.

Because I just don't need two sets of US #4 interchangeable tips, I want to give the extra set away to someone who would like them! Leave me a comment if you are interested and I will have the random number generator pick a winner next week. International entries welcome! :)

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Happy Easter!

I don't want to be included in the giveaway, so if you choose my comment you have my permission to choose again, but I still wanted to chime in to say that I LOVE the orange AND pink stripe option. It's two colours that I've always liked together and I think they play very nicely. :)

I agree, that you should use both colors. Or, for the top half of the sweater, stripe with prink, then at the bottom half, stripe with orange. does that make sense?
Something like this I, on the other hand, wouldn't mind being entered a giveaway, I love knitpicks interchangeable needles! Can't wait to see how your project turns out!

I'd say pink, but I also like the idea of using both colours the way other commenters suggest.
Oh, I'd like to try Zehphyr tips. So far I've been using the wooden ones.

i think that you should do both. i like the way the swatch is balanced with mostly pink and a little orange. i think it'd be cool and unexpected to have just a few stripes of orange. it'd be unique for sure.

I love them together! I agree with knottgnome - it would look awesome with mostly pink and a few pops of orange mixed in

I think you should do both too - I like it, very fun and springy!

I just picked up a new Debbie Bliss magazine (too bad not all of the patterns are on Ravelry yet). There's one simple tank in it - it's grey, with pink and orange stripes. It looks really good. Maybe you can find the magazine near you and have a look at it - it's pattern number 2. Then you can decide if you like the look of it.

I too think you should do both colors.

Please don't enter me in the giveaway. I do not like the Zephyr needles at all. To me, they are way too sticky and draggy. I slow down in my knitting a LOT using them~painful for me to use. Just my opinion though, so give them a try!

I think both for sure! I saw a black cardy in a shop then other day which had both and it looked awesome, and it was very hard for me to left it behind in the shop!

I think both would be temporary.....one would be more classic and lasting.....pink would be it.....love that combo
