Squash Blossom Lane Quilt

For a while now I've been planning to use up my collection of Tule fabrics by making a quilt using a traditional squash blossom block. I was not looking forward to all those small HSTs (and I love making HSTs!).
Everything changed when I saw this beauty. It was perfect! and it just confirmed it in my mind that that was what I still wanted to make. When I looked at the tutorial she used to make her blocks I was absolutely blown away by the genius of it!

I got to work right away on it and I had a different layout in mind. It just seemed too busy though.

In the end, I decided to go with the same layout as the original one I saw (copy cat!).
It came out a smallish lap quilt at 40" by 52".

I added a few prints from the fabric line Botanics, they match perfectly!

I also decided to try my hand at figure eight quilting. It is a lot harder than it looks! Mine have a distinctive slant that I just could not change. But I'm really happy with how it turned out anyway.

Used up the last of the fabrics for the backing, yay!!!

Tule Pow-Wow

Next up!
I knew the Tule fabric collection and the Pow-Wow pattern would be a match made in heaven. I love it!

I made the baby size in the pattern but added an extra row to make it a bit longer. Came out to be about 39" by 50".

I used one of my favorite prints for a large part of the backing plus some Technicolor Leaf in navy and some Echo in navy that I had in my stash.
