Happy Camper Wonky Cross Quilt

I've had this quilt finished for a month but I just now got some decent pictures. I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this quilt. It's a keeper for me. I've been hoarding the Circa 60 campers and tree fabrics for a long time. After I saw THIS amazing quilt using the same fabrics I knew that was the inspiration I needed for the color palate. I decided on a wonky plus/cross design since I have about 10 billion of them in my Flickr favorites (not really, just this, this, this, and this one). This tutorial got me started.

Funny story about this quilt. I first envisioned making this more masculine quilt thinking of my husband and how it would be nice for him to have a quilt that wasn't girly. When I finished the top I asked him what he thought and if he liked it. He said, It's nice but the colors aren't very bright. Me: Huh? He said, I really like the other one you made. Me: This one? Him: Yes, that one's my favorite. Okay then, this quilt is all mine, I'm really happy about it too! LOL!




I love how unique each block is and that I was able to use so many of my favorite fabrics!

Finished Sparkle Quilt

I finished up the binding on my Sparkle Quilt Along mini quilt last night! I'm super happy with it!

I tried something different for the quilting too. It was nice not to worry about perfection since this little quilt is staying with me.

I just need to figure out where I want to hang it now.

I would LOVE to have a big quilt in this design for sure! There are a lot of half square triangles though in each block, which get a bit tedious after a while. This was a great quick and fun little quilt. I'm glad I participated!

Hi there! Life has been SUPER busy here lately. I've been sewing and knitting but just haven't taken the time to get good pictures.

I have to tell you, I've been knitting on my Henslowe shawl most evenings and it's such a fun knit! It's my first time knitting on a lace edging and I'm so tickled with how it's turning out. I was expecting it to be complicated but it's really easy. This knit is almost DONE!


I made another Farmer's Wife block. It's #60, Noon & Light. I used some fabrics from Denyse Schmidt's new Aunt Edna collection from JoAnn's.
