Goodbye January!

Recovered from the bug I had only to get another one (along with my little one)! I'm seriously sick of being sick! But I'm feeling the life return to me and I think I'm going to finish quilting my do. Good Stitches quilt today (or tomorrow, let's not get too ambitious right?).

I have to admit, I'm very glad that today is the last day of January. This has been the most unproductive (not just in quilting!) month I've had in a long time. Here's to February being a happier, healthier month!

Happy Thursday!

Stitching

Hello! I've been down with a stubborn cold ALL week (still have a fuzzy head but I think I'm getting better). So I've done no sewing lately and I'm *this* close to having a new quilt top finished, can't wait to show you!

What I have been doing is slowly and steadily working on my cross stitch!
Woodlands Sampler
It was slow going when I first started on the frame. It's been so long since I've cross stitched and I was completely clueless doing it on the linen. But thanks to a browse on the internet I made sure I was going about it the correct way and eventually got the hang of it. Love how this came out!

where I join millions of other excited fans

Okay, so unless you've been living under a rock you've at least heard of Downton Abbey. Season 3 starts tomorrow!!! YAY! I don't watch a lot of TV but I'm totally hooked on this show.

A few days ago I decided to join the Woodland Sampler club. You've heard of The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, right? I've been eyeing their cute cross stitch patterns for a few years now but none of them seemed perfectly my style until this years sampler.
I cross stitched years ago and I'm looking forward to starting this little project. I ordered my floss and got my other supplies all ready. Should be fun! (but NOT while watching Downton Abbey. No, that requires my full, rapt attention LOL!)

Happy New Year!

A day late as usual. :)

I took a much needed internet break and barely checked my email for over a week. It was nice! But it took a while to catch up.

We had the most incredible (and rare) white Christmas ever! It snowed a bit on Christmas Eve a few years ago but it has NEVER actually snowed on Christmas day (here where we are north of Dallas) in the past 100 years as far as I was able to research.

We got at least 3 or 4 inches and it was gorgeous!
White Christmas
It was so cold and powdery that we couldn't make a snowman until late afternoon the next day when it had started to soften.
White Christmas
I'm back at my sewing machine now and it feels great to work on a few projects I've had set aside for a while.
Here's to a wonderful 2013 for everyone! Thanks for reading!
