Fenced In

And we have a winner! comment #2 Devin from For Making's Sake! I hope you enjoy the needles! (shoot me an email at mle_mcclendon(at)charter(dot)net with your address)
I am very appreciative of all your thoughts and opinions about which stripe color to choose for my Paulie Cardigan! I think I'm going to take all your advice and go with a 2 pink/1 orange combo like my swatch. :) I'm ready to start plugging away on this thing.

Here are some very mediocre pictures of a quilt I made for my Aunt about a month ago. I used the Fenced In pattern from The Practical Guide to Patchwork by Elizabeth Hartman (Oh Fransson) but made fewer blocks for a smaller quilt. I think it ended up being about 52" by 64", a perfect throw size.Fenced In
This was a fun pattern, I highly recommend it!

Love the Modern Meadow tree fabric by Joel Dewberry!

orange or pink or both?

My goodness! I've been trying to get this post up for the past two weeks! You know how life sometimes just hits you (kaboom!) and then it just keeps piling on? That's how the last two weeks have been for us. A family issue came up the week before last and then this past week we've all been sick. I'm happy to report things are on the upswing which makes me smile. Today has been super nice, nothing to do just relaxing and enjoying family time.

[note: scroll to bottom to enter win a set of Knit Picks needle tips!]

I wanted to show you my progress on my Paulie cardigan. I got my yarn from Knit Picks: Palette in Marble Heather and then two options for the stripes, Sweet Potato (orange) and Cosmopolitan (hot pink).

I made my swatch, testing the colors to see which I would like best. But I can't decide!!

What do you guys think???? maybe even a combo of both colors for the stripes?
At least I could go ahead and commence with the yoke without having made a decision since there are no stripes on the yoke.

Another funny thing. I ordered some Knit Picks Options #4 interchangeable needle tips for this project. I ordered the nickle plated ones (I have a set of these in a different size and enjoy them) but received the "Zephyr" needle tips instead. I called Knit Picks right away to report the mistake and they got another pair in the mail to me right away.
In the meantime, I went ahead and started swatching with the Zephyr tips. Let me tell you, I LOVE them!!! they are light and pointy (but not too pointy!) and are slightly flexible, they are awesome! Ironically, several days later I received my replacement needle tips and they were the Zephyr tips AGAIN. They must have a packaging problem or something.

Because I just don't need two sets of US #4 interchangeable tips, I want to give the extra set away to someone who would like them! Leave me a comment if you are interested and I will have the random number generator pick a winner next week. International entries welcome! :)

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Happy Easter!
