So, it turns out that a bit more than half of you guessed correctly....interesting, no? And without further delay, the winner is........Blogless in NJ!! she based her guess on scientific assessment...very interesting, you'll have to let us know what your secret formula is! ;-) So, Blogless in NJ, just shoot me an email (emily_chocoholic at hotmail dot com) with your address and I'll try to get that lovely Lorna's off to you on Friday!

All about Baby Contest!

It's finally that time! Tuesday is the BIG DAY! What will we have......boy or girl? I am so excited I can hardly stand it!The bedding I loved on Target.com went on sale a few weeks ago and I didn't want to risk it getting sold out so I went ahead and ordered both the boy and the girl sets. The boy set is called Zoo and the girl set is called Farm Girl...can you get any cuter!? I'm secretly hoping to be able to keep the girl set because I love it so much but of course I would love to have a boy as well.

I'm really 50/50 on the whole gender thing. I just don't have a strong "feeling" either way. Boy or girl, I'm going to be ecstatic!

So, here is a bump picture taken today:
What do you guys think? I know there are loads of old wives tales about cravings, baby's heartrate, carrying low or high, morning sickness or not, etc. to indicated gender but I think y'all should just give it your best guess! This pregnancy has (thankfully) been very uneventful so far.

So, here are the OFFICAL CONTEST RULES:
Just leave a comments saying what you think our little Sprout is AND your prize preference (see below) by 5PM Tuesday, April 29th.

Now, for the PRIZES! I have two different prizes I'd like to give away, 2 skeins of Lorna's Laces Shepard Sport in the Mother Lode colorway OR 4 skeins of Elsbeth Lavold Silky Tweed in a nice rich green (color 17). Just include which one you prefer in your comment and I'll choose ONE winner from the people who guess the correct gender!

And, some knitting content:I'm trying to finish this little sweater for our Sprout before Tuesday. It the Five Fruits (Ravelry link) sweater by Amanda Kerr (originally published on MagKnits) who is working on a link to the pattern on her site. I'm using just two colors instead of 5 and alternating stripes every two rows. I'm hoping it will turn out to be about a 6 months size so it can be worn this winter. I'm not entirely happy with the colors but hey, I got this Knit One Crochet Two Cotonade on clearence at my LYS and I think it will look fine once it's all done.

I can't wait to see all of your guesses! Have a great weekend everyone!

I wish everyday were Sunday

Okay, not every day but I sure have enjoyed my Sunday today and am sad that it is almost over.
I was in the mood today to get something finished. I've been feeling a bit weighed down by all my WIPs. So, the Asymmetrical Cardi is blocking:
I will have a modeled picture in a few days after it drys.
And here's another FO I've had done for quite a while now. It is a pair of Fuzzy Feet for my hubby. I used a full skein of Lamb's Pride Worsted in some blue color and then some leftover grey for the toes. These were super quick to make but took foooooreeeever to dry. I'm definitely making myself a pair of these before next winter!
Also, I we had some fun in the kitchen today and made homemade soft prezels! They came out so good and they weren't hard to make, especially since there were two of us in the kitchen. Perfect for a relaxing Sunday!

Catching up...again

Wow, sorry for the long absence! I've just been super busy lately!

This past weekend we made a whirlwind trip to Florida for a friend's wedding. Twelve hours one way and the weather was terrible! luckily it stopped raining about 2 hours before the wedding, which was on the beach.

I took all of your advice and have successfully made my first pair of baby socks!!!I cast on 32 stitches and knit 2x2 ribbing for about an inch and a half and then proceeded with a regular heel flap and gusset. It's hard to tell the scale here but they really look like they'll fit a baby's foot. I guess we'll find out for sure in September. This is just some leftover Yarntini Sock yarn in the Blue Hawaiian colorway. You can't get any cuter!

Also, BIG NEWS! my gender scan has been scheduled for April 29th. In three weeks! EEeek! I'm so excited. I think this calls for a gender guessing contest....STAY TUNED! I'll be giving more info soon and may even post a bump picture. I'll be 19 weeks then and let's just hope he or she isn't too shy. LOL!

I wanted to start a relatively easy new project that would be good for car knitting on our trip but I didn't get too far. This is the Lace Ribbon Scarf from the latest Knitty issue. I'm using some old Knit Picks Essential sock yarn that I've had around for a while but I love the color because it is similar to the original scarf in the pattern. I think I like how it's coming out but it seems very slooooow going. We'll see if I can finish it by winter.

I have lots more to show you as well so I'll be posting again soon.
